Dear readers,
welcome to the second edition of the TAILWIND newsletter, your biannual update on innovation towards sustainable, high-performance station-keeping systems for floating offshore wind! Our project goal is to advance the design of mooring lines and anchors to reduce environmental impact while enhancing cost efficiency and reliability.
In this issue we share some highlights, or better say milestones, from the past six months. First of all a big announcement: University of Porto joined the consortium expanding our offshore wind hotspots on the Atlantic. In June we went to the Wind Energy Science Conference WESC 2025 in Nantes (FR) to present an innovative reliability-based mooring design framework. Last but not least, we've published two important reports: Sustainable Anchor Concepts and Design Basis, each representing a step forward towards real-world application of TAILWIND’s methodologies.
