One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by Aligi Foglia from the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI), who showcased the progress and objectives of the TAILWIND EU project.
“TAILWIND is committed to optimizing floating offshore wind farms. By reducing raw material usage and minimizing environmental impact, the project enhances installation efficiency and significantly lowers costs. These innovations directly contribute to reducing the levelized cost of energy, making renewable power more economically competitive and sustainable,” said Foglia.
Thomas Langford, Director of Offshore Energy at NGI, also stressed the broader importance of such discussions during the energy transition:
“Our society continues to navigate the energy transition, and we are becoming increasingly aware of the need for different resources to support new technologies,” Langford noted.
The conference serves as a vital platform for sharing knowledge and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders who are shaping a greener, more resilient energy future.
